SASHIKO WORKSHOP MAY 6th
The workshop will be in the Education Room at Swansea Museum on Saturday 6th May. The cost in £25 plus charge of £16 payable to the tutor for the complete cushion kit.

The tutor is Pat Phillips and she will show you how to make a Sashiko cushion for your home. There is a charge of £16 for the kits but this includes all you will require for this project and you will end up with this lovely cushion!

Sashiko Cushion Workshop –
This workshop is based on the traditional art of Japanese stitching. You will learn a little of the history of the art. We will also discuss fabrics, how patterns are designed, their origins and the process of stitching. A class demonstration of marking the fabric will be given and the stitching process will be taught in small groups.

and construct a cushion.
THE CUSHION PACK WILL INCLUDE :- Cost of materials pack £16.
Two different coloured threads.
A Sashiko needle.
Chako marking paper.
A Chako marker pen.
A pattern.
Sashiko fabric for both front and back of your cushion.
You will be required to bring :-
A HB pencil.
A 12” rule.
A quilter’s cutting board if you have one. (I do have a few cutting boards so please do not go out and buy one.)
