FESTIVAL NEWS UPDATE

FUNDRAISING COFFEE MORNING – Saturday 13th February 2016

Gorseinon Institute, Lime Street, Swansea.

We intend our Coffee Morning to be a chance to socialise, raise funds and get guidance on Street Art and for Skills Tutors to discuss their plans for the Shop of Skills.Coffee and cakes (all cake donations gratefully received) may well be the start of the day but we will also have stalls so perhaps you will want to hire a table to sell goods, the charge will be £5 which will go to Festival Funds. We will work on a first come first served basis.

To book please contact Robi either by email or telephone 07715711798 and if you could give an idea of what you intend to sell so tables can be suitably organised. If anyone has any unwanted items to donate they can go on the fundraising table, we would be grateful if you could price beforehand.

Tickets will be £2 and this is for entry, a cuppa and a cake. The tickets will be £2 each and Robi will send out 5 tickets, optimistically for you to sell to your friends. We hope people will get to know each other and enjoy a lovely morning with friends preparing for our Festival.

Practically we want Textile Street Art participants to have information about deadlines for submission of drawings and plans and for them to include details of materials to be used and fixing methods. There will be a subsequent individual site risk assessment before submission to Swansea City Council Planning Department. We will take requirements lists from groups so we can gather your requirements needs and get them back to you. We plan to chat to all the Skills Tutors so we can put session details on the website.

Special Project - Buy a piece of Art As a group project we are asking if you would like to contribute a 4” x 6” (postcard size) piece of work mounted on 8’’x10’’ white card. This can be a stitched piece or mixed media on any topic; the choice is yours. These will all be displayed on the 13th February, when for a minimum of £5 you will receive an original piece of artwork. We would be grateful for all contributions to be either given or posted to Robi by the 11th February 2016, allowing time to prepare the display.

We look forward to meeting you on the 13th February – The Festival
