The Swansea Museum Gardens is being turned into The Secret Garden by the Stitching B group from National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Itchy Fingers Textiles will be re-creating many of the sweets from Willy Wonka's chocolate factory in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Stitch and Mix outside at the Taliesin buildings at Swansea University.

We are very glad to welcome a group from Cefn Coed Hospital who will be making The Owl and The Pussycat come alive in Tapestri Gardens. The Baywood Quilters will be showing us Alice in Wonderland on the National Waterfront Museum windows. Swansea Quilters are bringing Elmer the Patchwork Elephant to the National Waterfront Museum's courtyard and The Penclawdd Patchers are going to decorate Swansea Museum’s Tramshed with The Owl and the Pussycat.

There will be plenty of bunting around Swansea - the ladies from the ‘Good Yarn’ woolshop in Pontardulais are making celebration bunting along Princess Way, joined by the Ladies of Llys Elba Lounge who will be making knitted bunting. Contexart are making Fabulous Fish bunting to adorn the Helwick. The Civic Centre will be home to The Very Hungry Caterpillar created by Swansea Embroiderer's Guild and we have poetry being transformed into textiles in the Grand Theatre Gardens by members of Stitches Coven.

The plans to embrace Swansea in Textile Art are well underway and all the groups involved are very busy creating their tableaux.

We have schools involved in creating their favourite fictional characters and Gower College creating the Minpins at the 360 café and Myths and Legends plus decorating Adelaide Street Green with The Invisible String.

The Swansea Bay Regional Equality Council are going to decorate part of the Castle Square and Swansea Castle with Children’s Stories from around the World, this should be an engaging and entertaining display.
