Swansea Museum will host our daytime workshops. These will be from 10am till 4pm on the 9th 10th and 11th and the 16th 17th and 18th of August 2016. We will be offering opportunities to learn new skills or perhaps to build on an existing one.

Tuesday 9th August 2016 - Create your own fabric keepsake book. Use a personal memory or event as a starting point and illustrate with applique stitch, layers of fabrics even rubber stamps and use an old typewriter on fabric to make an unique talking point. A selection of materials will be provided, please bring your own source of inspiration. Sorry Workshop now FULL 

Tuesday 16th August 2016 - Demystifying Intarsia. This workshop aims to demystify the basics of how colour 'works' and will show you the skills to make beautiful Intarsia work. On the day we will make small samples using the details outlined in our Elements book. Suitable for knitters that can use plain and.purl.

Thursday 11th August 2016 - An exploration of layers in land and seascapes, this experimental workshop uses fabric and layers of papers to create unique surfaces for stitch. Work from a fabric background layering papers, natural plant fragments and threads to explore land and seascape imagery. Sorry Workshop now FULL,

Thursday 18th August 2016 - Jungle Book: Sheila’s workshop will explore colour in applying paint and stitch to create a sumptuous background that could be turned into a fabulous ‘Jungle Book’ full of dense texture and fabulous stitches. Wednesday 17th August 2016 - Develop your feltmaking skills by experimenting with a selection of wool pieces to create a variety of textures in felt using resists and fabric.  Samples will be made on the day but the techniques can easily be transferred to hats, vessels and wallpieces - forming a perfect canvas for hand or machine embroidery. Wednesday 10th August 2016 - Create improvised textile art using the freedom of free form collage as a fresh way to look at the design process. In this relaxing and inspiring workshop you'll design and complete a small block or collage which can be used as a cushion, framed or a starting point for a larger project. Suitable for all levels. Sorry Workshop now FULL
