BRILLIANT DAY WITH BETHAN ASH

Our workshop in Swansea Museum with Bethan Ash was absolutely brilliant, pictured above is her first fused quilt and she brought a wide range of her work for us to see, touch and discuss. We were a full house for the day all keen to learn her technique for fused fabric quilts. Bethan had prepared kits for everyone with the essentials for the day and talked us through her process, reminding us that as artists, colour is key. She showed her method of making a 'block' and made everything look so very easy, there was no planning, it was an instantaneous approach to building up the design that worked so effectively. She encouraged us to use her wide array of coloured cotton fabric and bag of offcuts to get us going. Needless to say everyone's work was entirely different !
