DYEING DELIGHTS

Robi and I have been busy dyeing and the process and the results look fabulous. Almost all the dyeing was done with Procion dyes in the microwave..
The colours are beautiful

Such a lovely contrast of colours

A mixture of old tablecloths and knitted and crocheted lace borders

This green and yellow is waiting to go in the microwave..

These are already cooked, ready for rinse and wash

Some of the finished products drying in the sunshine

I have also painted some lace and motifs that I have cut from an old 'lace' tablecloth. The results are vibrant and quick and easy to do. The only drawback is the fact you have to iron everything to set the paint.

Sorry this one is a little blurred

I used Dynaflow paints and Setacolor paints (available from the Range - marketed for use on light fabrics and it is a transparent paint and has no opacity) plus a little mica powder which gives a lovely glimmer to the fabrics. Great Fun!
